About CII SECEX 2024
SASTRA Successfully completed the 2nd National Level Critical Information Infrastructure Security Exercise (CII SECEX 2024), organized by the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Center (NCIIIPC) in collaboration with SASTRA. Held from April 5th to 14th, 2024, this event took place across four major locations: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. Our dedicated team of 100 professionals, including expert trainers, industry leaders, researchers, and academicians, had the privilege of training over 400 participants from Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) organizations across all seven national sectors.
The exercise was inaugurated by Shri Rajiv Gauba, Cabinet Secretary, and featured a keynote address by Prof. Ajay Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, highlighting the importance of this initiative in enhancing national cybersecurity. With more than 430 participants from approximately 150 CII organizations, including ONGC, IOCL, Powergrid, NHPC, BHEL, UIDAI, NIC, CBI, NIA, and NCRB, the event demonstrated significant participation and collaboration.
CII SECEX 2024 featured comprehensive pre-exercise training sessions and a Live Fire exercise, where advanced Red Teamers launched cyber-attacks on simulated vulnerable infrastructures, defended by Blue Teams. This intense Live Fire exercise lasted three days, culminating in the announcement of the top three winning teams during the closing ceremony on April 14th, 2024.
This exercise underscores our commitment at SASTRA to enhancing cybersecurity and protecting India’s critical infrastructure. We are proud to have played a pivotal role in strengthening the nation’s cyber defences and look forward to continued collaboration in this crucial endeavor.
